Jackson, Wyoming and a minivan

Four people, three checked bags, two carry-ons, and a baby hiking pack made it (somehow...oh and two car seats) on the plane and to Wyoming.  But then...there was the rental car.  Not all of this would fit into our reserved ford escape.  So we upgraded to some Subaru hatchback...nope.  we setted for, wait for it, a minivan!!  I have always been against minivans but man oh man do I already love this beast of a car.  So, we got our minivan and checked into the "cabin" which Raj found for us amidst the craziness of rain inside our hotel room in VA.  We have two queen beds, a pack in play, a bathroom, a sitting area, a kitchen,  and a little porch.  Needless to say I immediately booked us for an extra night here and downgraded our Grand Teton tent camp experience from 2-1 night.

after settling in we immediately found the local brewery (hey we have two toddlers) and had an eventful dinner.   Neither girl ate, both ended up falling and smacking their heads on tables/ the ground and I sat back like any responsible parent and ordered another beverage and a six pack to go.

Lucky for us the kids went to bed without too much more fanfare and slept until 545.  Which was fine with us because. ..we wanted to drive through the Elk Refuge and see some wildlife!  We saw some birds, no animals and settled for some delicious coffee and pastries instead.

Afterwards we did some essential grocery shopping to take full advantage of cooking in for a night and then explored Jackson Hole.  Though it was cold at the top of the mountain it was well worth the view.

as I write this the girls are napping (well, Anya is attempting to) and I am enjoying a beer from the six pack we invested in!  so far vacation is pretty sweet...
